About the guide
You will be accompanied by a professional knowledgeable guide, offering expert insight and a personal touch to your journey through Óbidos.
Overview of your tour
Your day begins with a hotel pickup in central Lisbon, followed by a scenic one-hour drive to the medieval town of Óbidos. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the picturesque countryside views as you leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind.
Upon arrival, your guide will lead you on a walking tour through this postcard-perfect town. Starting at the iconic Porta da Vila, you’ll step back in time as you stroll along narrow cobblestone streets, with whitewashed houses decorated with vibrant bougainvilleas. In the main square, hear fascinating stories about daily life in Óbidos, its historic aqueduct, and how the town of Óbidos earned its title as the “Town of Queens.” You’ll also learn why Óbidos is often considered one of Portugal’s most romantic and magical destinations.
A highlight of the tour is a visit to the Santa Maria Church, the town’s main church, famous for its stunning tiled interior and rich history. Of course, no trip to Óbidos is complete without sampling its signature drink – ginjinha served in a chocolate cup.
After the guided portion of the tour, you’ll have free time to explore at your own pace. Browse the local shops filled with handmade crafts, ceramics, and regional delicacies, or simply soak up the medieval atmosphere and take in the views of the castle walls.
Around midday, you’ll regroup with your guide and begin the journey back to Lisbon, arriving around 1 PM, just in time for lunch or your next adventure.
This half-day tour is the perfect way to experience the charm and history of Óbidos in a relaxed, fun, and informative way!

After sightseeing on our own for a week, this tour made me realize how invaluable a guide can be. Filipa made everything so easy, stress free, and fun. We did two tours in two days and by the end, she was part of our family. She thought of every detail and even accommodated my aging parents. You will not regret booking a tour with them!!
